Scoresheets, Tally Sheets and Bears, oh my!

A couple questions have arisen this week about Scoresheets.  There are some differences between the sheets in the guidelines, the ones via the national website linked to the right, the Scoresheet used on the Officials testing, and yes, the ones we have for used the past couple years.
Why!  How could this be?...
Simple answer is that with certain revisions of the rules, the Scoresheets had to also be updated to reflect them.  If you look at the "Tally Sheet" at the national site, you will see 1996 on it.  The Scoresheets have 2007 on them, and if you have downloaded a new copy of the Guidelines lately, you have this new Scoresheet.  If you downloaded them in the last couple years, you may have the mid version, circa early 2000's.  These are the ones that we used last year.
To keep up with the changes and to help our officials at the meet, we will have the new ones (which are listed as the Scoresheets) on the national website and on the back of new revisions of the Guidelines.  Guidelines can be downloaded via the National site, as well as new Scoresheets.  Also, you may find both the early 2000's version and the current version of the Scoresheet here.

Oct Meet-Final Notes

Officials:  If you have more than 2 officials listed on your registration or a change from the ones who are listed, please let me know as soon as possible (Thursday by the latest, please) of who your officials will be. if the 2 on your registration are who is coming, no need to repeat.
--Officials training online is open for all via the ohioag.org website under links to the right.
--If rooms have 4 officials, there will be a Quizmaster, ScoreKeeper, Timekeeper, and a Judge.  In this case, the Scorekeeper will not be a Judge as well.  If the room has 3 officials, then the Scorekeeper will also be a Judge.
--For listing your officials for me and you have officials that are capable of multiple positions, you can list the position they are most comfortable with.  I usually think of official positions with this line.  Each position is generally able to handle any of the positions to the right of it.
Quizmaster-->Scorekeeper-->Timekeeper-->Judge
So a Quizmaster should generally be able to do any other role, a Scorekeeper the time or Judge and so on.

Schedule:
9am--opening and announcements
9:40--1st match
12:00 or after 6th match: lunch break for 30 minutes
--final matches after lunch break

--We have about 20 teams in our section currently and so we will be quizzing about 8 matches on Saturday.  Because of the number of matches, we will break for a lunch break to refuel and recharge after the 6th match, which should be about 12:00.   It will be a 30 minute break from the time the last room finishes their 6th match, so everyone will have at least 30 minutes.

Food:  If you would like to eat at the meet, there will be breakfast, lunch & snack items available.  Lunch tickets will be sold beginning before the Opening for meals of Chicken Sandwiches or Pizza, each will come with chips & a drink for $3.  Breakfast and Snack items available through out the day for $.50-1.50.

what's with the background?!!

Several have asked what's up with the Darth Vader picture at the top of the page and what is it doing on the JBQ site?

Well..... besides it being a funny picture (Darth Vader driving a little race car, c'mon) if you look closely at him, you will notice that he is dressed in honor of our theme for October's meet--Crazy Hair Day!!

Now, what kind of crazy hair can your team display next week!!??
